Get IPTV Provider on a Firestick

Amazon's store does not list IPTV players, so the stick has to be told once that an app from elsewhere is welcome. That single permission is the only thing separating this guide from the Android one.

Setup is free. Send a message and the steps below are done together in the chat.

Get a hand
01

Fetch the Downloader app

  1. 1On the Fire TV home screen, move to Find and open Search.
  2. 2Enter Downloader and pick it when it appears.
  3. 3Select the orange icon and press Get to install it.
02

Allow apps from outside the store

Newer and older sticks keep this switch in different places.

  1. 1Recent sticks: go to Settings, My Fire TV, About, highlight the line naming your stick and press the centre of the ring seven times. Go back one screen, open Developer Options and turn on Install unknown apps for Downloader.
  2. 2Older sticks: Settings, My Fire TV, Developer Options, then switch on Apps from Unknown Sources.
Worth knowing. Amazon removed Developer Options from the menu in a software update. Pressing the centre button on the About screen the way step one describes puts it back.
03

Install a player and sign in

In Downloader, enter the address from your WhatsApp message and let it install. Three players we support:

  • TiviMate

    Paid

Built around its programme guide, records to USB, and a single licence runs on up to five devices.

  • IBO Player Pro

    Paid

Seven days free, then a single payment. The 12-month plan includes a year of it.

  • IPTV Smarters

    Free

No charge, and simple enough for anyone in the house.

When the player opens, choose Xtream Codes as the login type. The username, password and server address from the chat go in the three boxes, and the stick does the rest.

Rather skip the sideloading? Android boxes and Chromecast take the same players straight from the Play Store, and a Roku or a Samsung or LG TV works with nothing plugged in. Whichever route, read the channel list before you begin.
