Get IPTV Provider on a MAG box

A MAG has no username or password. The box is identified by its MAC address, so that gets registered on our side first, and the portal fills up once it is.

Setup is free. Send a message and the steps below are done together in the chat.

Get a hand
01

Send the MAC address

It is on the label under the box and under System Settings, in the form 00:1A:79:XX:XX:XX. The portal shows nothing until we have it, so this comes before every other step.

02

Find the portal settings

  1. 1Once the box has started, open Settings, or use the SETUP or SET button on the remote.
  2. 2Open System Settings, then Servers, then Portals.
03

Type in the portal address

  1. 1Under Portal 1 Name, enter any name you like.
  2. 2Under Portal 1 URL, enter the portal address from your order.
  3. 3Press OK to keep it.
04

Point the box at a time server, then restart

  1. 1In System Settings, open the time or NTP entry.
  2. 2Enter europe.pool.ntp.org; outside Europe, pool.ntp.org does the same job.
  3. 3Back out of the settings twice and pick Restart Portal.
Worth knowing. An empty guide on a MAG nearly always means the time server was left blank. The listings can only line up with the channels once the box knows the correct time.

Because a MAG is activated by MAC, that address is the whole setup. Formuler boxes do the same through MYTV Online, and BuzzTV boxes add a portal in much the same way. Look at the channel list before spending money on a box.
